Being bitten by a cat for a month without shots but the cat is fine, it is still possible to contract rabies. You must take timely measures after being scratched and bitten by a cat, and if it is a secondary exposure or a tertiary exposure, you must take rabies vaccination in time.
Rabies incubation period is long, the incubation period of rabies is about 1~3 months, but there are a small number of people who may have a longer incubation period, which may reach half or even longer. So being bitten by a cat for a month doesn’t pass the effective incubation period and is still dangerous.
In case of secondary or tertiary exposure, if the wound is not cleaned in time and the rabies vaccine is not administered in time, there is still a great risk because there are no antibodies to fight against the rabies virus.
Don’t be paralyzed after being scratched or bitten by a pet, go to the hospital and be treated by a physician according to your condition, and don’t use medication indiscriminately.
