Symptoms of Bronchial Asthma

Acute attacks of bronchial asthma may be characterized by wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness; acute symptoms are not obvious in the chronic persistent phase.

1. Acute exacerbation period: in mild acute exacerbation, shortness of breath may occur only during walking up the stairs, accompanied by increased respiratory rate; in moderate exacerbation, shortness of breath and chest tightness may also occur with a little activity; in severe exacerbation, dyspnea will occur at rest, and patients may be forced to sit and breathe; patients with critical illnesses are unable to speak, are drowsy, and have a blurred sense of consciousness.

2. Chronic persistent period: During this period, patients may not have sudden attacks of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and other symptoms, but may experience different degrees of wheezing, coughing and chest tightness over a long period of time.

It is recommended that the patient should consult a doctor in a timely manner and under the guidance of a physician for relevant treatment.
