Lying flat usually cannot correct hunchback for the following reasons: Firstly, lying flat does theoretically relax and stretch the spine, but it is impossible to keep lying flat all the time during sleep, and the patient usually alternates between lying on the side and lying flat involuntarily, so the time is too short to correct the hunchback deformity. Second, most of the hunchback deformity is the change of spinal structure, lie flat can not make the spinal structure back to normal level, but only relax the muscles, so that the hunchback patients feel less back pain symptoms. Therefore, we cannot rely on lying down to correct hunchback deformity, but need comprehensive treatment to gradually make hunchback deformity partially corrected, which includes both muscle exercise and surgical treatment.
