Difference between CT and X-ray of cervical spine

The main difference between cervical spine CT and X-ray is that X-ray is a relatively simple examination, with the corresponding advantages of faster examination and lower fees, and can provide certain information on the general shape of the cervical vertebrae, the physiological curvature of the cervical spine and osteophytes. CT is a tomographic imaging, there is no overlap of tissues, so the lesions that can be displayed are more subtle and far superior to X-rays, both in terms of bone and disc and surrounding tissues.
