Cosyntropin is the trade name for Skuclizumab Injection. It works to treat psoriasis and ankylosing spondylitis. The drug is a humanized monoclonal antibody that not only selectively binds the cytokine interleukin and inhibits its interaction with the receptor. It also inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. Clinically, the drug is used not only for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis that meets the indications for systemic therapy or phototherapy, but also for the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis. The use of the drug is associated with adverse reactions such as upper respiratory tract infections, oral herpes, runny nose and diarrhea. It is contraindicated in patients with severe hypersensitivity reactions to the active ingredient of the drug or any of the excipients. Use with caution in patients with a history of chronic or recurrent infections; patients with active inflammatory bowel disease receiving this drug should be closely monitored; use with caution in pregnant and lactating women. If you need to use the drug, it should be used under the guidance of a physician, and should not be used on its own to avoid adverse reactions.
