Calf pain can be seen in a variety of diseases, such as lumbar intervertebral disc herniation, thromboembolic vasculitis, tibiofibular fracture and so on.
1. Lumbar disc herniation: due to degenerative changes of lumbar disc, the nucleus pulposus protrudes or prolapses outside the annulus fibrosus, which irritates or presses the surrounding nerve and blood vessel tissues, and can cause lumbar pain, calf pain and other symptoms, which are mostly radiating pains often accompanied by lower limb numbness, weakness and so on.
2. Thromboembolic vasculitis: If inflammatory lesions occur in the blood vessels of middle and small arteries and veins in the calf area, calf pain is the prominent symptom, accompanied by numbness, intermittent claudication, decreased skin temperature, etc., and the symptoms vary according to the course of the disease.
3. Tibiofibular fracture: Tibiofibular fracture of the calf caused by direct or indirect violence, with pain and swelling at the fracture site, mostly accompanied by deformity, abnormal activities and other symptoms.
There may be other reasons for the pain inside the calf, such as diabetes, etc. If the pain in the calf for a long time or gradually aggravated, you need to go to the hospital in time, after clarifying the cause of the disease, under the guidance of the doctor to actively standardize the treatment.
