Can multiple stones in the gallbladder be removed without surgery?

Gallbladder multiple stones can be observed regularly without removal surgery if they are usually asymptomatic, but early surgical removal is still recommended if they are combined with other risk factors or have autonomous symptoms.
Surgical excision treatment should be considered when gallbladder multiple stones have the following symptoms and risk factors, specifically:
1. If symptoms recur even after conservative treatment, or in combination with cholecystitis, pancreatitis, cholangitis, or gallbladder polyps.
2. The diameter of the largest gallstones is greater than 2cm and the number is more than 3.
3. The gallbladder wall is calcified or porcelain gallbladder, the gallbladder wall is thickened >5mm.
4. Atrophy of the gallbladder, loss of function.
If any one or more of the above risk factors are combined, it is recommended that the patient should undergo surgical resection, otherwise the long-term stimulation of gallbladder stones may cause the occurrence of gallbladder cancer.
