Children are usually farsighted until the age of 8-10 years old, under normal circumstances, children around 3 years old have 175-200 degrees of farsightedness, and the naked eye vision can reach about 0.5-0.6. 6 year old children can have 125-150 degrees of farsightedness, the naked eye vision can reach about 0.8, and around 8 years old children’s farsightedness is reduced to 75 degrees, naked eye vision can reach about 1.0, which is the normal refractive state of the child. This is the normal refractive state for children. If the child is within the above criteria, no treatment is needed, and only the child’s naked eye vision and refractive status need to be checked regularly. If the child’s hyperopia is high and has affected the development of naked-eye vision, it is necessary to go to a regular ophthalmologic institution for optometry. Optometry requires dilated pupils to obtain an accurate refractive error, and according to the refractive error after dilated pupils, the child will be fitted with hyperopia lenses to treat the development of vision, and will need to be rechecked every three months, and according to the change in refractive error, the lenses will be exchanged.
