Does myopic surgery hurt?

Myopic surgery is generally painless, but you may experience symptoms of foreign body sensation and dry eyes, which will slowly subside as you recover from the surgery. There are two types of therapeutic surgery for myopia i.e. Keratoconus and Intraocular Refractive Surgery. These two types of surgeries are painless because of the surface anesthesia given before the surgery and there is no need to worry too much about it. In addition, myopic surgery is less invasive and usually painless after the anesthesia wears off after the surgery. Intraocular refraction is more likely to cause symptoms of foreign body sensation and dry eyes than corneal refraction. These symptoms usually resolve within a few days. You can consult with your surgeon for specific intraoperative sensations and postoperative recovery from myopic surgery, and prepare and adjust according to your surgeon’s instructions.
