What is the meaning of a dense shadow in the right lung?

Right lung hyperdense shadow is a dense nodular shadow in the right lung, which is closely associated with nodules, suggesting that the patient has had chronic infectious lesions, and does not exclude recent lung infections, lung tumors, tuberculosis and other inflammatory and neoplastic lesions. If CT suggests a dense nodular shadow in the right lung, it is necessary to identify what kind of nodular shadow the dense shadow is, which is divided into three kinds of cases: ground-glass nodule, partially solid nodule and solid nodule. If the high-density nodular shadow in the right lung suggests calcification, it is mostly a change of old tuberculosis. If the nodular shadow is partially solid, the diameter is more than 8mm to be alert to lung malignant tumor. If the high-density nodule is less than 5 mm, annual CT examination is recommended, and if the nodule shows growth, we should be alert to the possibility of malignant transformation of the high-density nodule, and if necessary, we should perform chest enhancement CT, or we can ask the thoracic surgeon to perform a surgical evaluation.
