A 20-day-old baby’s milk intake is about 100mL at a time, and the 24-hour milk intake is about 600-700mL. The amount of milk for a child is related to the child’s weight. Babies who are heavy have a relatively large stomach capacity, so they eat more milk. Also, boys eat a little more than girls. Generally speaking, the stomach capacity of a newborn baby is 10-20mL/kg, and as the baby grows up, the stomach capacity increases gradually, and the daily milk quantity is 150-180mL/kg. The amount of milk may vary from time to time, more this time and less the next, but the 24-hour milk quantity is about the same every day at the same stage. Therefore, the mother needs to observe whether the child’s weight can grow normally, and it is usually better to gain 1.5-2 kg at full term.
