The time for wound healing after surgery is related to the location of the wound, the age of the patient, the length of the wound, the presence of other complications and the nutritional status. Judgment is made based on the location of the wound: surgical wounds of the extremities generally heal in 10-14 days. The healing time for chest, abdomen, back and buttocks is 7-9 days. The healing time for head and neck wounds is 4-5 days postoperatively. According to the patient’s age, generally adolescents over 20 years old have adequate nutrition, faster recovery of all parts of functional tissues, and shorter wound healing time. Older people have slower nutrient absorption and longer wound healing time. Smaller wounds have short healing time and larger wounds have long healing time. Patients without postoperative complications have a short healing time, and patients with postoperative complications have a long healing time. It is recommended that patients should be treated accordingly according to their postoperative recovery, with emphasis on a light diet and reduced activity during the period.
