Is there a link between high uric acid and gallstones?

High uric acid and gallstones are generally not related.
High uric acid is caused by the patient’s frequent consumption of high-purine foods, impaired uric acid excretion and chronic kidney disease. Patients will experience elevated uric acid values, and if they develop gout, they may experience symptoms such as gout stones and joint pain.
Heredity, obesity, hyperlipidemia and high cholesterol diet will lead to abnormal bile secretion, resulting in bile crystals and ultimately the formation of stones. Patients will experience symptoms such as biliary colic, abdominal pain, high fever and jaundice.
Therefore, high uric acid and gallstones are generally unrelated. However, unhealthy diet and living habits are the basis of causing the disease in patients, thus patients are advised to maintain good living habits in their life.
If the patient is not feeling well, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
