Is it normal to have dark-colored diarrhea?

Whether the dark color of the discharge is normal or not needs to be analyzed specifically in relation to the time after delivery, the color, amount and smell of the discharge, which may or may not be normal.
With the shedding of uterine metaphysis after delivery, tissues containing blood, necrotic metaphysis and other tissues are discharged through the vagina, which is called bad dew. Dew has a bloody but odorless taste and lasts for 4 to 6 weeks. Because of its color, content and time, the discharge is divided into bloody, plasma and white.
Bloody is named because it contains a large amount of blood, bright red in color, large amount, sometimes with small blood clots. Microscopically, there are a lot of red blood cells, necrotic meconium and a small amount of fetal membranes. Bloody discharge lasts for 3 to 4 days. Bleeding gradually decreases and plasma increases, transforming it into plasma malodor. Therefore, in general, it is normal for a woman to have dark-colored discharge for 3 to 4 days after delivery.
If the uterus is incomplete, or the uterine cavity retains part of the placenta, fetal membranes, or combined infection, the discharge will increase, and the duration of bloody discharge will be prolonged and have a foul smell, then the dark and foul-smelling discharge is abnormal, and should be dealt with as soon as possible.
Mothers should observe the amount, color and smell of the discharge every day after delivery, and if there is any abnormality, they should consult a doctor and take care of it in time.
