Square skull is mostly seen in infants and young children, and is usually caused by pathological reasons, commonly including calcium deficiency and hydrocephalus. As the patient’s skull is underdeveloped, there is parietal or occipital bone hyperplasia, while the high forehead is mostly born, which may be caused by genetic factors, and belongs to physiological causes, generally has no effect on health. For patients with square skulls, the forehead is square from the front view, relatively angular and high symmetry at both ends, while patients with high foreheads are oval from the front view and have no angularity. Patients with square skulls need to undergo a detailed examination to determine the cause of the disease and to treat the symptoms. Square skulls caused by calcium deficiency need to be properly supplemented with calcium and sun exposure to promote calcium absorption. For breastfed babies, if there is a square skull, the baby’s mother should also eat more calcium supplement food, such as shrimp, milk and so on. During the process of adding complementary foods, foods rich in protein and calcium should also be added, such as tofu. For patients with high foreheads there is also a possibility of calcium deficiency, and micronutrient measurements can be performed to determine if calcium supplementation is needed.
