Nasal mucosal atrophy is atrophic rhinitis, patients can follow the doctor’s instructions to use potassium permanganate, nasal drops, as well as neostigmine, 50% dextrose and so on to carry out the treatment.
1. Potassium permanganate: patients can use nasal rinser to rinse the nasal cavity with warm saline or 1:2000~1:5000 potassium permanganate solution 1~2 times a day to clean the nasal cavity, remove pus crusts and odor. When rinsing the nasal cavity, avoid excessive force to avoid damage to the mucosa of the nasal cavity, resulting in nosebleeds.
2. Nasal drops: patients can use 1% streptomycin, 1% compound menthol camphor oil, cod liver oil nasal drops as prescribed by the doctor to moisten the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, improve the blood circulation of the mucous membrane, soften the pus and easy to blow out. Pay attention to the dosage of the drops when giving them to the nostrils and use them according to the doctor’s instructions.
3. Neostigmine: Patients can use 1% neostigmine to apply to the mucous membrane to promote vasodilatation and reduce symptoms. It is contraindicated if the patient has a history of bronchial asthma or epilepsy.
4. 50% dextrose: 50% dextrose can be applied topically to stimulate secretion of mucosal glands to relieve symptoms.
Patients should use the drug under the guidance of the doctor, and should not change the dose and concentration arbitrarily. Spicy and stimulating food should be avoided to avoid affecting the recovery of the body. If there is allergy to the above drugs, the use of allergic drugs is contraindicated.
If the condition of nasal mucosal atrophy does not relieve, timely diagnosis and treatment should be carried out to avoid delaying the condition.
