Amoxicillin allergy can be considered for other regimens to treat H. pylori, such as tinidazole + furazolidone, tinidazole + clarithromycin, levofloxacin + clarithromycin, and furazolidone + tetracycline.
Levofloxacin is used as a remedial regimen for first treatment failure and is not used as a first treatment agent. All other antibiotics can be used as first-line drugs and can be chosen according to individual allergy history and local drug resistance.
A light diet should be taken during the medication period, avoiding spicy and irritating foods. Split meals are recommended to avoid family members being infected with the bacteria. Adhere to the medication for 10~14 days, and strive for a successful sterilization. Four weeks after stopping the drug, repeat the breath test to determine whether the bacterium is successfully eradicated.
If amoxicillin allergy, it is recommended to adjust the drug under the guidance of a doctor.
