What causes coldness in the back?

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the cause of coldness behind the back may be external wind-cold and yang deficiency. However, the exact cause should be decided by the doctor according to the patient’s other symptoms. 1. Exogenous wind-cold: Exogenous wind-cold is prone to symptoms such as coldness (fear of cold), coldness behind the back, runny nose, cough, and so on. 2. Yang deficiency: Yang deficiency is prone to coldness behind the back, accompanied by pale or grayish-black color, fear of cold, low temperature of hands and feet, lumbar and knee soreness and pain, mental fatigue, swelling, and loss of libido. If the symptoms of coldness behind the back are not relieved for a long time or accompanied by other discomforts, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to identify the cause and carry out targeted treatment.
