Can disposable masks protect against viruses?

Disposable masks are not antiviral. The seventh edition of the “New Coronavirus Treatment Plan” issued by our country has clearly stated that disposable surgical masks or N95 masks should be used, which are the only two masks with antiviral functions. Because most of the disposable masks are used for cosmetic purposes, such as blocking ultraviolet rays or ingredients, dietary hygiene, and disposable surgical masks and N95 masks, the biggest difference is the lack of a layer of meltblown cloth. The meltblown cloth is the core layer of the mask, which can adsorb or filter out virus particles as well as dust and particles, while disposable masks do not have this function. So when buying a mask, be sure to identify whether it is a disposable surgical mask or an N95 mask. The wrong choice of disposable mask not only has no anti-virus function, but also tends to expose itself to the virus, thus appearing to be susceptible to infection.
