The latest research advances in gastric cancer include: first, neoadjuvant chemotherapy method, which refers to chemotherapy treatment for early or middle stage gastric cancer patients before surgery, which can effectively prevent cancer cells from metastasis and reduce tumor volume, effectively reducing the metastasis rate of gastric cancer patients after surgery. For early stage patients, it is likely to remove the tumor through neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and in the later stage, surgery is not needed to reduce patients’ pain. Secondly, intravenous chemotherapy method, which improves the effect of chemotherapy by combining drugs, has better treatment effect on tumor and can effectively prolong the survival of patients. Thirdly, immunotherapy, which is carried out by non-specific biological response modifiers, can improve the immunity of patients, thus improving the body resistance and effectively prolonging the survival period. Fourthly, targeted drug therapy, for many gastric cancer patients, the effect of targeted drug therapy will be better than radiotherapy and chemotherapy, especially for patients with genetic problems, the effect of targeted drug therapy is more significant. With the development of medicine, targeted drugs are becoming more and more important in the treatment of gastric cancer.
