Tonsil removal surgery requires hospitalization because the blood supply around the tonsils will be richer. For pharyngeal surgery, the methods are now more advanced than before, and there are more tools to stop bleeding than before, including bipolar electrocoagulation, plasma and local sutures to stop bleeding. However, all patients should be hospitalized for observation for 2-3 days after tonsil surgery. Bleeding caused by tonsil removal includes two causes, primary bleeding and secondary bleeding. Primary bleeding occurs within 24 hours after surgery, and secondary bleeding occurs about a week after surgery, when the tonsil scabs fall off. Both of these bleeding time points should be hospitalized for observation. In the case of primary secondary bleeding from the tonsils, hospitalization is preferable if the above-mentioned conditions occur.
