What happens to deafness and tinnitus?

Tinnitus and deafness are caused by otitis media, tympanic membrane perforation, scarlet fever, influenza, auditory neuroma and other diseases that cause structural and functional abnormalities in the ear tissue and auditory nerve, resulting in impaired sound transmission or sensory function, causing hearing loss or hearing non-existent sounds in the ear. The main manifestation is an intermittent murmur in the ear, sometimes starting in one ear and gradually developing into a persistent noise in both ears, or even cranial tinnitus.
