What are the symptoms of tinnitus and deafness?

Tinnitus is a conscious ringing in the ear, such as hearing a cicada, or like the sound of a tide. Deafness is a varying degree of hearing loss, or even loss of hearing.
Tinnitus may be accompanied by deafness. Tinnitus initially appears as an intermittent murmur, sometimes starting in one ear and gradually developing into a persistent noise in both ears, and many patients also have cranial tinnitus.
Some patients with early deafness first perceive a change in their auditory attention, with a gradual increase in the sound of speech.
