What happens when the hymen ruptures old

The hymen is a thin film-like mucous membrane at the opening of the vagina and most hymens are ring-shaped, porous or sieve-shaped. The hymen contains blood vessels and nerve tissue and can be damaged and the membranous tissue torn when sex or trauma occurs. The torn edges will heal again, and during the healing process a scar will form, and although the edges will be intact again on both sides, the circular structure will have been destroyed, and this is what we call an old hymen rupture.
