The best time to measure blood glucose after meal is generally 2 hours after meal, which means from the first bite of food and start to measure blood glucose after 2 hours. In normal people, the blood sugar is ≤7.8mmol/L 2 hours after meal, and in pregnant women, the blood sugar is ≤8.5mmol/L 2 hours after meal, and in diabetic patients, the blood sugar control is generally 8.0-8.5mmol/L 2 hours after meal. Blood sugar control at 10.0mmol/L is sufficient. In general, the blood sugar of normal people is 6.7-9.4mmol/L for 1 hour after meal and ≤7.8mmol/L for 2 hours after meal, and the blood sugar cannot exceed 11.1mmol/L at any time, and if it exceeds 11.1mmol/L, diabetes may occur. In China’s diabetic patients, the main manifestation is generally elevated postprandial blood glucose, while foreign cases are mainly elevated fasting blood glucose, so it is recommended that during the annual physical examination, in addition to testing fasting blood glucose, it is best to also measure the 2-hour postprandial blood glucose. If the fasting blood glucose or 2-hour postprandial blood glucose values appear abnormal, a detailed examination should be conducted.
