Does IVF induce cancer?

IVF does not induce cancer, which is related to cancer-causing genes carried by oneself as well as poor living habits. In vitro fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproductive technology. Many clinical trials have shown that IVF is not associated with the development of cancers such as breast cancer, cervical cancer and endometrial cancer in women. However, there are invasive procedures involved in IVF, and women should rule out contraindications before undergoing IVF. Cancer is associated with gene regulation and poor lifestyle habits. For example, if there is a history of a certain type of cancer in the family, the offspring are more likely to develop that cancer than others. Bad living habits are also an important factor leading to the development of cancer, for example, long-term smoking can increase the incidence of lung cancer and other cancers, and long-term consumption of moldy food may induce the development of liver cancer and other cancers. Currently, IVF technology has matured and there is no evidence to suggest that it directly contributes to an increased risk of cancer.
