According to our country’s body mass index judgment standard, body mass index ≥28.0kg/m² is considered obese. The treatment of obesity is based on diet control and increased physical activity, supplemented by medication when necessary, and surgery is applicable to some patients. The principle of diet therapy is to limit the total daily calorie intake. The more important significance of exercise therapy is the consolidation and maintenance of weight loss. When diet and exercise therapy fail to work, drugs can be used as part of a comprehensive weight loss program. For some obese patients, surgery can be considered under certain conditions. Surgery for obesity has certain short-term and long-term risks, and the long-term effectiveness and safety of this treatment, especially in our population, have yet to be evaluated. Obese patients can be under the guidance of professional doctors for weight loss treatment.
