Ku Zhen Wan is from “The Secret Collection of the Orchid Chamber – Women’s Primer”, which is formulated with Huang Bai (黄柏), Bai Shao (白芍药), Chai Hu (柴胡), and Bai Shi Li (白石脂), etc., and is used for the treatment of leucorrhoea in women with prolonged and unrelenting menstrual bleeding. Ku Zhen Wan is a traditional Chinese medicine formula composed of Huang Bai (黄柏), Bai Shao Yao (白芍药), Chai Hu (柴胡), Bai Shi Li (白石脂), Long Bone (龙骨), Angelica sinensis (当归), and Cannon Ginger (炮姜). The above medicines are finely powdered, boiled in water and made into pills with the size of gravy, taken on an empty stomach and eaten sparingly. It is mainly used for treating leucorrhea, prolonged descent, cold pain in the umbilical cord and abdomen, also in the yin, slipping fire in the eyes, seeing things 䀮䀮 without seeing, pain in the teeth and malignant heat and other disorders. Adverse effects of this formula are not known at present. Note that those who are allergic to the constituents of this formula are prohibited from using it, and those with allergies need to take it with caution. Avoid spicy, cold and oily food.
