What does a gastroscopic biopsy look for?

Gastroscopic biopsy is the removal of pathological tissue from the stomach through the gastroscope for histopathological examination to distinguish whether its nature is inflammation, ulcer, intestinal epithelial hyperplasia, malignancy and other conditions. Usually, if suspicious lesions are found during gastroscopy, especially in the gastric sinus and gastric angle, biopsy examination is needed, i.e., endoscopic clamping of the lesion tissue and pathological examination to distinguish which condition belongs to inflammation, ulcer, intestinal epithelial growth, malignant tumor, etc., and thus to determine more accurately the existence of intestinal epithelial growth or the possibility of gastric cancer, especially the early stage of gastric cancer. It is recommended that patients should consult doctors in time if they have gastrointestinal discomfort to avoid delaying their condition.
