What does a CT of a neurofibroma in the neck show?

CT scan of the neck can show the location of the tumor, the extent of invasion, and the anatomical relationship with the surrounding structures.
1. Location: located in the extramedullary subdural area and distributed along the nerve roots, it usually forms a round-like, round, sausage-shaped tumor, and obvious enhancement is seen on enhancement scan.
2. Range of invasion: cervical neurofibroma is commonly found with clear boundary, which is uneven due to different fat, fiber, cystic degeneration and calcification within the tumor, and obvious boundary is visible. If the tumor is large, it will compress the surrounding blood vessels, but the muscle gap is clear; if the tumor undergoes deterioration, the border becomes blurred, resulting in damage to the muscle gap.
3. Anatomical relationship with surrounding structures: typical neurofibroma CT can see the tumor compressing the carotid artery and the internal jugular vein and separating the two.
If the diagnosis of this disease is confirmed, the doctor should be consulted in detail and the best treatment plan should be chosen under the doctor’s guidance.
