The severity of abdominal aortic sclerosis needs to be evaluated in relation to the atherosclerosis of the aorta and the stenosis of the vessels, taking into account the age of the patient, the underlying disease and the physical condition of the patient itself. The severity of abdominal aortic sclerosis can be determined by enhanced CT of the abdominal vessels. If mild stenosis is present, it does not cause ischemia of the organs and does not require special treatment and is not serious. In the case of severe stenosis, life-threatening conditions can cause severe ischemia of the organs, such as necrosis of the kidney or ischemia of the spleen, resulting in irreversible damage. Early and timely intervention by means of stenting is required, and attention to control of underlying diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, etc., is of great importance to improve the prognosis.
