Children with mumps are divided into suppurative mumps, epidemic mumps, etc. The cause of the disease is different, and there is no fastest way to treat it.
1. Purulent mumps: Treatment includes medication and surgery.
(1) Medication: Commonly used medications include antibacterials, antiseptic mouthwashes, and so on. Antibacterial drugs, such as cefazolin and amoxicillin, are used to inhibit the reproduction of pathogens and avoid spreading. Disinfectant mouthwash, such as sodium bicarbonate solution, is used to clean the mouth and control inflammation.
(2) Surgical treatments: abscess incision and drainage, for patients with abscess formation; salivary stone removal, to remove the salivary stone and allow smooth saliva drainage; parotid duct ligation, to close off the channel of infection, for patients for whom non-surgical treatments are ineffective.
2. Mumps: medication-based treatment, commonly used drugs are antipyretic, antipyretic, antiseptic and antiseptic.
(1) Anti-swelling and analgesic drugs: such as paracetamol, used to reduce swelling and relieve pain.
(2) Antipyretic and analgesic drugs: for example, acetaminophen, used to lower the temperature and reduce the stimulation of the oral cavity.
(3) Disinfectant and antiseptic drugs: for example, compound boric acid solution.
(4) Antiviral medications: e.g., ribavirin, used to fight viruses.
(5) Glucocorticoids: e.g., hydrocortisone, for controlling inflammation.
If you are diagnosed with mumps, you should take antibacterial and antiviral drugs for treatment in addition to swelling and pain medications, and it is recommended that you use the drugs under the guidance of your doctor.
