Number of radiotherapy sessions for breast-conserving surgery

Postoperative conventional compartmentalization regimens for breast-conserving surgery are typically 25 sessions, macrodivision regimens are typically 15-16 sessions, and sequential radiotherapy typically ranges from 3 to 8 sessions.
There are various types of radiation therapy after breast-conserving surgery for breast cancer, including whole-breast radiation therapy, tumor bed boost, and regional lymph node boost.
Whole-breast radiotherapy consists of a large compartmentalized regimen and a conventional compartmentalized regimen, both of which are comparable in terms of efficacy, cosmetic effect, and side effects, and the on-time large compartmentalized regimen is usually more cost-effective for patients, so the large compartmentalized regimen is mostly recommended, which is usually 40-42.5 Gy, and is performed for 15-16 times. Sequential macrosegregation regimens are recommended, 8.7 to 10 Gy over 3 to 4 sessions.
Tumor bed addition and regional lymph node addition are usually performed about 10 times.
