To determine the benignity or malignancy of cool nodules in the thyroid gland, we mainly rely on medical history, physical examination, and radionuclide scan, as well as cytologic examination of the day puncture. In terms of medical history, 50% of cool nodules appearing in childhood are malignant. A single nodule occurring in a young male should also be alerted to the possibility of malignancy, and malignant lesions should be suspected if a nascent nodule or an existing nodule increases rapidly in a short period of time. On physical examination, multiple nodules are usually benign lesions, while thyroid cancer is mostly a single isolated nodule, which is uneven when touched, hard in texture, less mobile when swallowed, and sometimes can even be touched by enlarged lymph nodes on the same side of the neck. 4. According to Chinese medicine, thyroid nodules are caused by liver qi stagnation and blood obstruction. Experts believe that thyroid and method of Chinese medicine is fundamental, and according to the patient’s specific symptoms, we can eliminate thyroid nodules by dredging liver qi, activating blood circulation, softening hard nodules and relieving dampness and phlegm.
