What’s wrong with a large platelet ratio of 13?

The large platelet ratio is only 13% and needs to be considered in conjunction with the platelet count. There are three types of platelets, large, medium, and small, with large being defined as those with a diameter greater than 10 μm and a volume greater than 11fl. The large platelet ratio ranges from 17.5% to 42.3%. A low large platelet ratio indicates high platelet maturation, such as acute leukemia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, aplastic anemia, chemotherapy and radiation therapy can lead to a low large platelet ratio. The large platelet count and large platelet ratio are only 13 indicating a decrease, if both the large platelet count and large platelet ratio are decreased indicating the presence of bleeding. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
