Recognizing True and False Myopia

To distinguish between true myopia and pseudomyopia, patients usually need to undergo an astigmatic examination.
Myopia can be further categorized into two different types of myopia: true myopia and pseudomyopia, and the distinction between true myopia and pseudomyopia can play a significant role in guiding treatment. Patients can distinguish between true myopia and pseudomyopia by dilating the pupils for optometry. When the pupils are dilated, the ciliary muscle is paralyzed, which can eliminate the ciliary muscle spasm, thus removing the pseudomyopia, and the patient’s myopia can be reduced.
The myopia of patients with true myopia generally does not change much after pupil dilation. At present, true myopia can not be reversed, patients can wear glasses or refractive surgery to correct myopia, so as to improve vision.
It is recommended that myopia patients visit the hospital in time to assess their condition and under the guidance of the doctor.
