How to grade the amount of blood vomited

Vomiting blood mainly refers to bleeding in the digestive tract, which is generally categorized into three levels, namely mild, moderate and severe.
1. Mild: when the bleeding volume is 5-10 ml, the patient can have a positive fecal occult blood test, and when the bleeding volume is 50 ml, the patient can have black stools.
2. Moderate: when the bleeding volume is more than 250 milliliters, the patient may vomit blood or vomit coffee-colored contents. Generally, there will be no change of heart rate and blood pressure when the bleeding volume is less than 400 milliliters, but if the bleeding volume is more than 400 milliliters, there will be a decrease of blood pressure and an acceleration of the heart rate, and other manifestations.
3. Severe: i.e. gastrointestinal hemorrhage, a bleeding volume of more than 1,000 milliliters, the patient will rapidly develop peripheral circulatory failure, acute hemorrhagic shock and other symptoms, this time the situation is very critical, we must consult a doctor as soon as possible.
