Is it enough to cut out the hypoechoic nodular disease behind the ear?

Hypoechoic nodule behind the ear, the possible diseases are swollen lymph nodes behind the ear, sebaceous cyst behind the ear, boils behind the ear, etc. Some of them need surgical treatment, some don’t; and some of them will recur after removal.
1. Enlarged lymph nodes behind the ear:
(1) Inflammatory postauricular lymph node enlargement: it is mainly caused by bacterial infection, mostly related to acute tonsillitis, gingivitis, otitis media and so on. Treatment is mainly based on anti-infective treatment, and commonly used drugs include penicillin, cephalosporin and other anti-infective treatment. Surgical resection is generally not necessary.
(2) Tumorous postauricular lymph node enlargement: it is mostly related to malignant tumors and commonly found in lymphoma. Surgical resection should be the mainstay, regular observation is needed, and there is a possibility of recurrence after tumor resection.
2. Behind-the-ear sebaceous cysts: usually require complete surgical excision and can be cured.
3. Boils behind the ear: acute infection can be treated with amoxicillin, cefuroxime and other anti-infective treatments. After suppuration, incision and drainage are feasible. It can be cured by changing medicine regularly.
In the above cases, attention should be paid to review after treatment. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or treatment.
