How to take care of a side-cut wound in labor

The care of maternal lateral incision wound should pay attention to adopt the healthy side lying position, disinfect and keep the lateral incision wound clean and dry every day, and avoid excessive exertion causing incision dehiscence and hematoma formation.
1. It is recommended that women with lateral incision adopt the healthy side lying position after delivery to reduce the pressure on the incision and promote healing, and at the same time, it can reduce the flow of malodor into the lateral incision wound and avoid the infection of the lateral incision location.
2. It is recommended to rinse the vulva and lateral incision wound twice a day with diluted complex iodine solution. Before each rinsing, the woman should empty her urine first and rinse gently from top to bottom to avoid the rinsing water from entering into the vagina, and change the perineal pads diligently to keep the perineum clean and dry.
3. Mothers should avoid excessive force during urination and defecation to prevent incision cracking and local hematoma formation. It is recommended that women get out of bed moderately and appropriately, and increase the intake of vegetables and fruits appropriately, so as to avoid the lateral incision wound cracking caused by constipation and straining to defecate.
