Common causes of swelling, pain and blocked feeling in the ear include: acute otitis externa, acute otitis media and eczema of the external ear canal. 1. Acute otitis externa: usually caused by viral and bacterial infections, the inflammation stimulates the skin of the external auditory canal, resulting in diffuse congestion and swelling of the external auditory canal. If there is a lot of inflammatory exudate, pus can also flow from the external auditory canal, resulting in severe pain and a sense of blockage. 2. Acute otitis media: patients will mainly experience ear pain, tinnitus, hearing loss and other symptoms. If the disease is not relieved but gradually aggravated, it can also cause swelling of the lymph nodes behind the ear, which in turn leads to swelling and pain in the ear and a sense of blockage. 3. Eczema of the external auditory canal: it can produce small blisters in the ear, with localized redness, swelling, itching, and if the symptoms are more serious, pain will occur. If the blisters rupture and ooze out more, a blocked feeling in the ear can occur. Swelling, pain and blockage in the ears, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital as soon as possible for systematic examination and diagnosis to avoid further aggravation of the condition.
