Blood in mucus after radiotherapy for rectal cancer may be caused by different reasons, such as radiotherapy injury or tumor rupture, targeted measures should be taken according to different reasons, such as hemostatic treatment, local care and so on.
1. Radiotherapy injury: radiotherapy may cause intestinal mucous membrane injury, resulting in blood, usually bleeding is light, local care can be done, and after stopping radiotherapy and observation, usually it can recover by itself.
2. Tumor rupture: Rectal cancer through radiotherapy will make the tumor tissue bleed and necrotic and rupture, thus bleeding occurs, which indicates that radiotherapy has played a role in the tumor and it is a normal phenomenon. However, if the bleeding is more serious, doctors should be informed to stop bleeding, suspend radiotherapy, local treatment and anti-inflammation.
