Can Acyclovir Treat New Coronavirus?

Acyclovir does not treat the new coronavirus. Acyclovir is a nucleoside analog, which is structurally similar to guanine, and is a commonly used antiviral drug. However, it is generally used mainly for primary and recurrent genital herpes virus infections, herpes simplex virus infections, as well as for the treatment of mild cases of herpes zoster in immunocompetent and immunodeficient individuals and chickenpox in immunodeficient individuals. Although New Crown virus also belongs to the category of viral infections, it is highly mutable and belongs to the category of novel viral infections, which is a more specific strain. It can only be treated with specific neocollins medications, or the infection rate can be reduced with a neocollins vaccination. General antiviral drugs usually have no inhibitory effect on the new crown virus, therefore, acyclovir is not able to treat the new crown virus. In summary, acyclovir is not a treatment for neocoronavirus. New coronavirus is mainly prevented by injection of new coronavirus vaccine, if unfortunately infected, patients are advised to report immediately and strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for isolation and treatment, do not use drugs blindly, to avoid adverse effects on themselves or the community.
