What’s wrong with your eyes when you see bright things?

Discomfort in the eyes when looking at bright light is considered to be a symptom of photophobia. It is usually caused by corneal diseases such as keratitis, dry eye, macrovesicular corneal degeneration, and corneal foreign bodies. Dry eye is the most common disease, and one of the most common diseases that cause decreased tear production is dry syndrome, also called dry keratoconjunctivitis. This disease is autoimmune in nature, and early manifestations can include dry eyes, photophobia, and reluctance to open the eyes, as well as dry mouth and lips, and joint symptoms. Rheumatology investigations are needed, and rheumatology programs are the main indicators.
