Maitong is eaten in decoction, in pills, powder and paste.
Maitong is a kind of Chinese medicine. It is sweet, slightly bitter, slightly cold in nature, and goes to the heart, lung and stomach meridians. Its effect is to produce fluid to quench thirst, in addition to moisturizing the lungs and relieving cough. It has the effect of treating dry lung and dry cough, fluid injury and thirst, heartburn and insomnia, intestinal dryness and constipation, laryngeal paralysis (redness, swelling and pain in the pharynx, or dryness, foreign body sensation, or itchy discomfort in the pharynx and difficulty in swallowing) and sore throat, and so on.
The adverse reactions and contraindications of Maidong are not clear. Precautions should be avoided where there is a deficiency of the spleen and loose stools (feces thin and unformed), phlegm in the lungs and stomach (pathological products of impaired metabolism of water), dampness and coughing at the beginning of the wind-cold. If there is a need for medication, need to be used under the guidance of a doctor to identify the evidence, do not blindly use their own medication, so as not to cause adverse consequences.
