Scoliosis is also known as scoliosis. Upper thoracic scoliosis can be treated either conservatively or surgically. 1. Conservative treatment: If the scoliosis of the upper thoracic region is mild and the angle of scoliosis is within 25 degrees, close observation and timely exercise rehabilitation are usually required. If the scoliosis increases more than 5 degrees every year, the patient needs to wear a brace in time. If the first diagnosis of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is made, and the angle of the scoliosis is between 25 and 40 degrees, the patient also needs to wear a brace and exercise rehabilitation in time. 2. Surgery: If the scoliosis is still uncontrollable after wearing the brace, if the patient has obvious back pain or nerve compression symptoms, or if the scoliosis of the thoracic segment is greater than 45 degrees, timely surgical treatment is needed to prevent the progression of the deformity, and commonly used surgical methods include scoliosis correction and spinal fusion. Patients with upper thoracic scoliosis need to consult a doctor in time to determine the severity of scoliosis and choose the appropriate treatment. Patients should develop good living habits and avoid prolonged standing and sitting.
