After 60 to 70 years of practice and research around the world, we have realized that breast cancer is a systemic disease and extended excision does not cure the tumor. In the last decade, breast-conserving surgery, which involves the removal of only the breast cancer and axillary lymph nodes, together with radiotherapy and other treatments, has been performed. The results of the study showed that the 5-year survival rate of patients with breast-conserving surgery did not decrease as a result, but the quality of life was greatly improved. In addition to breast-conserving surgery, more patients can undergo immediate breast reconstruction surgery. Women who have lost their breasts after breast cancer surgery generally have a negative psychological state. In addition to feeling inferior because of the destruction of their feminine features, they also fear the recurrence of the cancer and that the surgery will affect their normal sexual life. Breast reconstruction can restore the beauty of the patient’s body, thus eliminating the psychological barriers caused by the loss of breasts.
