Bowel paralysis, as the name implies, is a paralysis of bowel function, specifically the slowing down or loss of bowel movements, and is often caused by various reasons, such as surgery, medications, and disease. There are mild and severe cases of intestinal paralysis. In mild cases of intestinal paralysis, the symptoms can be bloating, nausea, and difficulty in defecation. In more severe cases, there may be severe abdominal distension, or even abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, poor bowel movement, or even inability to pass stool, and in more severe cases, even incomplete intestinal obstruction, or even intestinal necrosis caused by intestinal obstruction.
