Can a 5cm kidney tumor metastasize?

Kidney tumor 5cm may have metastasis. The tumor has grown to 5cm, which is already considered a relatively large tumor, and the blood vessels and lymphatic vessels inside the tumor are rich, so the tumor cells may metastasize to lymph nodes or distant organs with these blood vessels and surrounding lymphatic vessels. Especially for the less differentiated kidney tumors, as long as the tumor breaks through the basement membrane, the infiltrating carcinoma developed from in situ carcinoma, even if the tumor is small, distant metastasis may occur. Therefore, if 5cm kidney tumor cannot be excluded from metastasis, it is necessary to do other examinations, such as CT or MRI of other parts of the body, to check whether distant metastasis has occurred and to formulate a specific clinical stage before doing the corresponding treatment.
