Diabetic eye blindness

The most common cause of blindness in diabetic eyes, from the front to the back of the eye, is the presence of a cataract, vitreous hemorrhage, or fundus lesions. Therefore, patients with diabetes who cannot see in their eyes should immediately go to the ophthalmology department for dilated pupil examination. If a cataract has formed and requires surgery, cataract surgery needs to be performed immediately. If it is vitreous hemorrhage and the vitreous hemorrhage is not absorbed in 10-15 days by using drugs to stop the bleeding or drugs to promote the absorption of the accumulated blood, biosurgery is needed. If there is macular edema in the fundus of the eye, local photocoagulation of the macula or anti-VEGF drug injection is needed. At present, diabetes is one of the most important causes of ocular cataracts, so patients with diabetes must visit the ophthalmology department regularly for dilated eye examinations.
