Leukocyte nonproliferative leukemia, also known as hypoproliferative leukemia, is generally more severe.
Leukemia is a malignant disease of the blood system in which the patient will find an increased number of naïve and primitive cells on examination. If there is no change or decrease in the number of white blood cells found in the body during examination, it may be caused by hematopoietic failure, which is generally more serious.
Most patients with leukemia have significantly elevated white blood cells, but a small percentage of patients with leukemia will have a clinical picture of decreased white blood cells, called hypoproliferative leukemia.
The prognosis of hypoproliferative leukemia is poor because the disease usually has inactive bone marrow hematopoiesis and poor reserve function, and once chemotherapy (cytarabine, azacitidine, vinacrine) is administered, it may result in prolonged and severe myelosuppression, which may lead to various complications.
In case of leukocytosis without leukocytosis, one should consult a doctor for targeted treatment under the guidance of a physician.
